Questions Vine reviewers ask us

What does VinePilot cost?

Nothing. VinePilot is in free beta: every feature, every marketplace, no card. If that ever changes we will say so well in advance.

How much time does VinePilot actually save per review?

Most of a review's time goes to re-reading the listing, checking what others said, and staring at a blank box. VinePilot does the first two before you open the item and gives you a draft for the third. How much you save depends on how much you edit — and you should edit.

Will this help my Vine quality score?

We cannot promise a score — Vine's grading is Amazon's and not public. What we can do is make the things that are known to matter easier: specific, experience-based content (summary points you confirm or contradict), a consistent structure, and photos on every review. Your current score and review-to-order ratio from your Vine account page are shown next to your queue so you can see the trend.

How does ETV / tax tracking work?

VinePilot pulls your Vine tax report (the spreadsheet Amazon provides) and your orders page, and shows totals by year. For each item you can flag whether it was a consumable or a brand-name product and, if you disagree with Amazon's number, set your own fair-market value. An AI guess pre-fills the flags from the product listing, and you can change any of them. None of this is tax advice — take the totals to your tax preparer.

What happens to my photos? Is location data removed?

Yes. The moment a photo lands on our servers we strip EXIF and similar metadata: GPS location, camera make and model, capture time, everything. If you crop or rotate, we produce an edited copy. Once Amazon confirms your review is live, both copies are deleted. If you abandon a draft, its photos are deleted after 30 days. You can delete them yourself any time.

Can I get photos from my phone without emailing them to myself?

Yes. On the photo step, click “From phone” and scan the QR code. Your phone opens a one-time upload page for that item; pick photos, they appear on your computer. The link works once and expires. Google Photos is also supported if you connect your Google account.

I use two browsers / two computers. Does that work?

Yes. Install the extension on the second browser, open VinePilot, and enter the pairing code shown in Settings on the first. Both browsers share one account and one queue. The hourly page budget is per browser, so two browsers sync a little faster. A review is always posted from the browser where you pressed Post.

Which Amazon marketplaces are supported?

amazon.com, amazon.ca, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.it, and amazon.es work out of the box. amazon.co.jp, amazon.com.au, amazon.sg, amazon.in, and amazon.com.mx can be switched on in the extension popup; your browser will ask you to grant access to that site. If you have Vine accounts on more than one marketplace, VinePilot keeps them separate under one login.

Does VinePilot post reviews automatically?

No. It never posts anything you have not read and approved. When you press Post, VinePilot re-opens Amazon's review form in your session, uploads your photos, submits the exact text you approved, and then watches your Reviewed list until the review shows up there. If it does not show up within a few hours you get a notice to check.

What if Amazon signs me out?

VinePilot notices (the next fetch is redirected to the sign-in page) and pauses. You will see a “Signed out of amazon.com” banner; sign back in on Amazon as usual and VinePilot resumes on its next check-in. Nothing is lost — it just waits. VinePilot never sees your password.

Who can see my data?

Your queue, orders, ETV, drafts, notes, and photos: only you (and Blockover staff who need access to fix a problem, under logged access). Public product information and the AI summaries built from it are shared across VinePilot, but they contain nothing about you. We never sell data. Export or delete everything from Settings.

What does the extension have permission to do, exactly?

Two browser permissions: storage (your VinePilot token, marketplace choices, settings) and alarms (the periodic check-in). Plus access to the Amazon marketplaces you enable and to vinepilot.org. It cannot see other tabs, your browsing history, or your passwords. No code is loaded from the internet; the VinePilot app appears in a frame like any web page. The full list, with reasons, is on the store listing and in our Privacy Policy.

Something looks wrong in my queue / a page will not parse.

Amazon changes its pages. When VinePilot cannot read one it keeps a copy for up to 14 days so we can fix the parser, then deletes it. Email support@vinepilot.org with the marketplace and page type, and we will usually have it fixed within a day or two. You do not need to send screenshots of your account.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Delete account. Every device is revoked, and all personal data — identity, queue, orders, drafts, photos — is removed within 30 days. Product-level data stays in the shared catalog because it contains nothing about you.
