VinePilot Terms of Service
Draft for legal review. Not yet in force.
Effective date: [date] Last updated: [date]
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Blockover Corp, a Wyoming corporation ("Blockover", "we", "us"), governing your use of VinePilot: the website and web application at vinepilot.org, the VinePilot browser extension, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or installing the extension you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at vinepilot.org/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What VinePilot is
VinePilot is a writing and tracking assistant for members of the Amazon Vine programme. It fetches your own Vine pages and public Amazon product pages inside your signed-in Amazon session, summarises what other customers have written about a product, helps you draft your review, prepares your photos, tracks your estimated taxable value, and, when you ask it to, posts the review you approved to Amazon through your own session.
VinePilot is an independent product of Blockover Corp. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon. Amazon and Amazon Vine are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Your relationship with Amazon and with the Vine programme is governed by Amazon's own terms, not by these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you:
- are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher);
- are a member in good standing of the Amazon Vine programme on at least one supported Amazon marketplace, or are evaluating the Service with a view to membership;
- are not barred from using the Service under applicable law; and
- have not previously had a VinePilot account terminated for breach of these Terms.
3. Your account
- You sign in with an email address (magic link) or a Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to that email or Google account secure.
- One VinePilot account per person. One Amazon Vine account may be linked to only one VinePilot account, and we identify a Vine account by a one-way hash of its Amazon customer id.
- You may connect several browsers and a phone to one account. Each device receives a token; you can revoke any device in Settings. You are responsible for activity under your devices until you revoke them.
- Tell us at once at security@vinepilot.org if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Acceptable use
You agree that you will:
- use VinePilot only with Amazon accounts that belong to you, signed in by you, in your own browser;
- comply with Amazon's Conditions of Use, the Amazon Vine terms and the Community Guidelines that apply to your reviews, and any other Amazon policy that binds you;
- post only reviews that reflect your own honest experience with the product;
- keep the extension's fetch behaviour as we ship it (do not modify the extension, run it in automated browsers, or attempt to raise the page budget);
- not use the Service to collect data from Amazon for purposes other than the Service's own features, to build a competing dataset, or to resell data obtained through it;
- not attempt to access other users' data, our systems, or our providers' systems without authorisation, and not interfere with the Service's operation;
- not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to use (this includes photos of other people without their permission);
- not use the Service to post reviews you were paid for by anyone other than through the Vine programme itself, or reviews of products you did not receive and use.
You are responsible for every review you publish. VinePilot posts a review only when you press the button that says so, and posts exactly the text and photos you approved. Whether a review complies with Amazon's rules, and any consequence Amazon attaches to it (including removal, quality-score effects, or loss of Vine membership) is between you and Amazon.
5. Free beta
VinePilot is in free beta. The Service is provided at no charge: every feature, every supported marketplace, no payment details required. There is nothing to buy and no subscription to cancel.
We may end the beta or introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and on vinepilot.org before anything costs money, and no charge will ever be made without your explicit agreement. Features that concern only your own data are always free.
Because this is a beta, the Service may change, break, or be interrupted, and features may be added or removed. Section 9 (disclaimers) applies with particular force during the beta.
6. AI-generated content
VinePilot uses third-party large language models to produce product summaries and review drafts. You acknowledge that:
- AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or generic. Summaries describe what other customers wrote, not facts we have verified. Drafts are a starting point.
- You must read and edit every draft before posting. By posting, you confirm that the review reflects your own experience and opinion, and you are its author. We make no claim of authorship or ownership over drafts.
- Amazon's rules on reviews (including any rules on AI assistance) apply to you. It is your responsibility to know and follow them.
- We may decline to generate content that we consider abusive, deceptive, or unlawful.
7. Your content and the shared catalog
7.1 Your content
You keep all rights to what you create and upload: your notes, your edited reviews, and your photos and videos ("Your Content"). You grant Blockover a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, resize, edit as you instruct, and transmit Your Content solely to operate the Service for you, including sending your approved review and photos to Amazon on your instruction. This licence ends when the content is deleted from the Service, except for copies in routine backups that are deleted on schedule.
You represent that you have the rights needed to grant this licence and that Your Content does not infringe anyone's rights.
7.2 Contributions to the shared catalog
VinePilot works because every user contributes product-level information: product pages, other customers' public reviews, category listings, which items appeared in Vine and when, and the AI summaries derived from them ("Catalog Data"). Catalog Data contains no personal information about you (see the Privacy Policy). To the extent you hold any rights in Catalog Data that your extension fetched or that you supplied (for example an outside link you pasted), you grant Blockover and other users of the Service a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, analyse, summarise, display, and otherwise use it within the Service. You can turn off contribution of pages you visit in Settings; pages fetched for your own queue are always contributed, because that is how the Service works.
7.3 Feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, and trademarks (VinePilot, the VinePilot logo), is owned by Blockover Corp or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install the extension and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer (except where the law permits), or create derivative works of the Service, or remove any proprietary notice.
Amazon product information and third-party reviews shown in the Service belong to their respective owners and are displayed for your reference in writing your own review.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BLOCKOVER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT FETCHED DATA WILL BE COMPLETE OR CURRENT, THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, THAT A REVIEW WILL BE ACCEPTED BY AMAZON, OR THAT USE OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR STANDING WITH AMAZON OR THE VINE PROGRAMME.
Estimated taxable value figures, consumable and brand-name flags, and any yearly totals are informational tools, not tax advice. Consult a tax professional about your obligations.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those places the disclaimers apply to the fullest extent permitted.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BLOCKOVER AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR VINE MEMBERSHIP, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) US$50.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or, for consumers in the EU/UK, statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Blockover against claims, damages, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from Your Content, your reviews, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or of Amazon's terms, except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.
12. Dispute resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at legal@vinepilot.org and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction, and consumers in the EU or UK may bring claims in their home courts where the law gives them that right.
13. Termination
- By you. Delete your account in Settings or uninstall the extension at any time. Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- By us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service (with at least 30 days' notice where practical).
- On termination your licence ends, but sections 7.2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and by the U.S. federal law that applies. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you also benefit from mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
15. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change the Service at any time, including adding, altering, or removing features. We may update these Terms; we will post the new version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms. If you do not, stop using the Service and delete your account.
16. General
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Blockover about the Service.
- If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Notices to you go to your account email. Notices to us go to legal@vinepilot.org.
- The Service is controlled from the United States; you are responsible for compliance with local laws where you use it, including export controls.
